REALLY tough times in poker right now. I've won a combined 11 hands in my last 4 tourneys, and 2 or 3 were stone cold bluffs. I couldn't hit a flop if you let me stack the deck. And on the tables, I've lost to AK with AA and KK with all chips in preflop today as well as losing with trip 7's to the flush on the river, so I'm down a bit. I know this is part of poker, but it's not my favorite part, that's for sure. It'll turn around, the trick is to stay with in your bankroll and keep playing well. I know that getting my chips in with the best hand is a winning situation in the long term and I know that I'll start catching cards every once in a while in the tourneys. Just a matter of slogging thru the muck, that's all.
The situation that was stressing me out as of my last post seems to have been resolved. It was a fairly severe fight between me and a brother, and it had me pretty upset, but today he came over and made nice. Even said I was right to feel and act the way I did. VINDICATION!! Well, the important thing is all is forgiven AND he's not moving back in, so I have my apartment back. Family. Only thing worse than family is not having one.
Gonna ramble a bit here. I've been ....uncentered? for nearly a month. Those of you close to my age may remember commercials for V-8 where the person is walking at an angle? I feel that way. Distracted at work, trouble sleeping, restless when I'm at home and bored when I'm out. May be cabin fever, except that getting out of the home doesn't seem to work. Meditation isn't helping, in fact, right now, it's impossible, I can't focus a BIT. I have NO idea why I feel like this, I'm usually happy and relaxed (except at the poker tables). I'm torn between letting off steam with some heavy drinking, and sitting in a dark closet thinking until I've figured out the problem and resolved it.
That's all for now, time to hit the ol' hay. Check ya later!

Your name is familiar - did you play the $2.00 tourney last night at Poker.com? If so, you were playing great! (I'm Trouthunter over there).
Chin up. Life has more variance than poker. If it's down now, you know it will be up later. Just hang in there through the tough times and enjoy the good times.
Great blog, BTW - trade links?
Thanks, Steele. I was in that tourney, but not sure I played great. And I would LOVE to trade links with you.
I actually lost connection about half way thru the tourney. I heard I kept winning my all ins, tho
One of us most have gotten moved off the table before you lost your connection. You looked like you were doing pretty well. It sucks when you hit a slump, but them's the breaks. All you can do is keep playing the way you know you can and wait for the cards to come back around.
You've hit the down swing in your diet, thats the problem. Like giving up coffee and then two days later, the headaches kick in.
Its the same when you change your diet. The chemical change. It's horrible for now, but perserveer(??). The chemical balance will sort itself out, and you'll bounce back up.
Great to see you've done the first 20lb, and that you also undrerstand the next bit will slow down a little, but just reset your target. Don't think you have to lose another 20, aim for 2lb a week. Doesn't look a lot, but its an easy HEALTHY target to get.
And remember you have support out here, even if it's just to moan a little.
Good Luck and smile
Caz:)
Thanx, Caz. I think me being off kilter is due to more than just my diet, but I hadn't realized my diet could be a part of it. I will stick to it, and keep in mind the weight loss will slow down, but the other benefits are just as important.
