Much ado about nothing

Well, I'm back again. Been a while. I know my posts are slowing down and I apologize for that. Real life has a nasty habit of sticking its nose in where it isn't welcome.

My bankroll in poker is rebounding nicely. Few bad sessions and a bit of tilting had it down quite a bit, so I'm recovering again. AGAIN, I say. :) I don't think I'll ever learn to adjust to bad runs. Actually, what I won't ever do is gain the emotional control to adjust to bad runs. I know perfectly well what to do, I just don't do it.

I actually came in 2nd in a tourney 2day. Got very lucky to make the headsup, then got quite UNlucky to lose the match. Ace hi flush against a full house. Not much you can do, lick your wounds and get ready for the next one. At least I'm making money again.

So I've been trying out this Guildwars game I'd been hearing about. I kinda like it. Not as much as I used to enjoy Everquest, but it's a good time, and with no monthly fees, it's well worth playing. I used to love EQ. (sigh) Spent 4 years playing it, mostly in the same guild and made some friendships I miss even now, 4 or 5 years after I'd stopped playing. But with every expansion the game got harder and harder to enjoy and after a bit, I was tired of spending my leisure time trying to get a group so I could play. Anyone reading this ever play EQ? I tried WoW and EQ2, also, but they weren't the same.

I mentioned last time that I had stepped down as Assistant Manager where I work. They are allowing me to continue to work there, full time, with no loss of pay even after the new Assistant is trained. I think that is VERY generous of them, but I want to leave as soon as I can. I get the impression that it could be quite awkward for a new boss to have to work with the old boss. Plus, after 2 and 1/2 years acting like the boss, old habits are bound to betray me into overstepping my bounds.

But I think I may already have found another job. Still it's nice to know if I don't find something right away I'm not facing unemployment.

Well, that's all for now, guys. I'll see ya round.

GuildWars is a blast. It's not as bad a time sink as EQ or WoW, but it can still suck up a lot of your life. I have no idea how much time I've lost on it. Probably not as much as poker, but still...
